For macOS · Early access

Record. Edit. Frame. One app.

A screen recorder with zoom that follows your cursor, a real editor for what you recorded, and Lightbox for the screenshots in between. One window from first take to final export — processed on your Mac.

Fluid Zoom, live. Move your cursor over the preview.

One app

Three tools in.
One window out.

A good demo usually takes three apps: a recorder, an editor to fix the take, and a mockup tool to dress the screenshots. Every hand-off is an export, an import and a little lost quality. Lapiz is all three, working on the same project.

Three apps. Two exports in between. One window. One project. One export.

Fluid Zoom

The camera follows
your cursor. Calmly.

While you record, Lapiz watches the cursor and directs the shot: it zooms in where you click, keeps the action in frame, and refuses to chase every twitch. You get a video that looks edited without editing it.

Your video
  1. Follows

Click and the camera pushes in on that spot. Keep working and it pans with you, so viewers never hunt for the action.

  2. Ignores the jitter

A dead zone in the middle of the frame absorbs small movements. The camera only moves once you leave it.

  3. Settles

Every move runs on a spring, not a timed tween — it eases off and lands, instead of stopping like a robot.

Canvas

Nine looks.
All of them alive.

Backgrounds in Lapiz are shaders, not wallpapers — they move, fit any aspect ratio and never tile. These are the app's real nine, ported to run in your browser. Pick one, then push it around.

Match Video

sample clips

In the app, Match Video reads the colours of your own recording. Here, three sample clips stand in.

Editor

A real timeline
for what you recorded.

Cut, trim and reorder. Zooms are clips you can drag. Captions are transcribed on your Mac and stay linked to the words they belong to. Add a voiceover, a transition, a second track — then drag the playhead.

  • Silence trimming
  • Detach audio

Keyframes

Motion you set
with one diamond.

Press the ◆ beside any property, move the playhead, change the value — Lapiz adds the keyframe. Every key in the project is listed in one place, and each has its own easing curve you can drag. Try it on the clip below.

  • Position, size, rotation, opacity, radius
  • Zoom amount
  • Audio volume
  • Colour grade
  • Canvas background
  • Text
  • Bezier, hold and spring easing
  • Intro & outro presets

Export

Every shape.
One pass.

Widescreen for the website, vertical for Shorts and Reels, square and 4:5 for the feed. Lapiz fits the same project to each shape — the whole picture, never a cropped middle — and exports them together.

The shaders, the zoom, the Lightbox render — all computed in this tab, by your own hardware. The app works the same way, only more so:

  • Recordings, projects and exports stay on your Mac.
  • Captions are transcribed on-device.
  • Export renders locally. There is no upload queue to wait in.

Questions

What happens after the 12 months?

You keep Lapiz and everything you have forever. Renew updates for $19/year if you want newer versions; skip it and nothing stops working.

Do I need an account?

No. Recording, screenshots and Lightbox are free with no account. Pro uses a license key you receive by email.

What's free in the editor?

After a 3-day full trial, the editor stays free: edit, cut, zoom, add text and captions, export at 720p with a small Lapiz mark. A license removes the mark and unlocks full-quality export and the Pro tools.

How many Macs?

Up to 3 per license; you can free up a slot in Settings → License.

Refunds?

30 days, no questions.
